Silently Gliding Through The Air
Silently Gliding Through The Air
Ok, I'll 'fess up. This really isn't a picture of me flying in New Zealand. However, it is me up there. Another pilot took my picture on Coronet Peak, but never sent it to me. So, no NZ hang gliding pictures, but you'll still get a good pic.

This is a picture of my first solo flight. It was a pleasant and calm summer evening. I thought I would be a bit apprehensive on my first solo flight and kept waiting for the fear to come, but it never did. Once up in the air, it was amazing at how nimbly the glider handled. The difference on this flight was that I was minus 110 kilos of ballast (otherwise known as my instructor). I was flying over a road about 400 meters up and there was a cyclist beneath. I briefly thought to myself , "What a great evening for a ride. I wish I was down their riding right now.....Nah!"
