Their were lots of these geological features in the park.  The rock would crack and then a harder material would flow through the cracks.  The harder material wouldn't erode as fast leaving these raised ridges in the rock.

This isn't a rare geological feature but it's still interesting and something I always look for.  Geology is among the most interesting of the sciences as you can see it most everywhere you go.
