When passing through Wom for the first time, this is what you see.  It was striking to see this and I thought, "This is the sort of thing that you see in a National Geographic magazine."  Most of the other villages are built on the banks of a river instead of in the river.  That was part of why I was interested in Wom, but there was something else that told me this was the place to stop.  What that was is uncertain but it was a good decision to stop and stay for a few nights.
