End Of The Pleasant Range
End of The Pleasant Range

This is a unique picture of the ending of the Pleasant Range.  The track goes around a small knob at bottom of the picture and then you can follow it off into the distance to where the range descends a thousand meters to the valley below.  That descent starts just beyond the end of the visible tussock.  The snows had just ended when this picture was taken and would not be an issue the rest of the day but the slack was taken up when the rains started.

It's also neat in that you can see the junction of three valleys.  To the left is the valley where the Jane Burn joins the Seaforth River.   Just beyond the range is the valley that the track and Seaforth River follows to Dusky Sound, which is just visible off in the distance.  The valley to the right also holds the Seaforth, which is visible in several spots.  The track follows the river upstream to Centre Pass.
