Seaforth Valley and Gair Loch
Seaforth Valley

The track ascends steeply through the forest on the way to Centre Pass.  It's a beautiful forest, beautiful beyond belief actually but if you don't stop and turn around, you can miss quite a sight behind you.  The track is very steep most of the way up, akin to the mountains that you see on the right side of the valley and the terrain you see at the very right.  This picture isn't a perfect exposure and I do have another picture from a previous Dusky tramp.

The lake at the bottom is Gair Loch and the track passes between the loch and the valley wall and remember when I used the word "sodden"?  Well, I meant it!  The hut is in the mouth of the valley just between the hills on the right.  The track follows the right side of the valley before starting the steep ascent to this point.
