The entire valley is surrounded by tall mountains but there are  places where the valley walls are steeper than the others.  Often times, you are in the thick forest and can only see the bush but then you'll come to an area where you can see this above and think, "Oh that's good!"  I wanted to climb up to that valley high above but after looking at the climb, I thought the better of it as I still had a long day ahead.   Maybe next time, maybe next time...
