Nature Takes Back Its Own
Nature Takes Back Its Own
Upon crossing saddle one is greeted by this magnificent sight.  A huge valley, covered in green and the peaks go to the horizon.  One of the first things I notice was the large slip on the right side of the valley.  It's actually bigger than it looks as the slip goes behind one of the ridges (visible better on the picture below).  To give you some idea of it's size, the bottom of the slip is about 50-60 meters wide.

Eight years ago when I saw this slip, it was only a few days old and was much more noticeable as you can see below.  Take a look at this newer picture vs. the eight-year old picture.  The slip is starting to grow with lichens, mosses, and shrubs.  One day, you'll not even know a large landslide took place.  As the title says, nature takes back it's own.
