One of the prettiest parts of the track is the section just south of  Thomson Lake.  The track passes over an old slip and is very rough.  It's not the roughness that makes it's wonderful, rather it's the overwhelming amounts of green.  The greenery is above, below, sides, front, and back.  It's everywhere.
