The year is uncertain but it's probably a 1986
model. It has 130mm spacing and will be built up with six-speed
gear. I didn't feel like polishing it and ended up brushing the finish. Well, some day
it will be done.
You can see from the pictures that the welds
aren't quite as high quality as some of their later work but they are
nice enough. The one picture of the bike next to the couch is how
the bike looked when it arrived. I did pick up an American stem for it.
It was anodized black and it was the intention to remove the
anodization and brush the stem. However, after seeing it, the
decision was made to leave it as is since the stem is in near perfect
condition. Just leave it alone. Well, there you go, an
early American Comp-Lite.
