This is the oldest of my bikes, a
1989 Klein
Pinnacle Elite. It
was
previously owned by an "older gentleman who only rode it occasionally
on cycle paths." I didn't put much credibility into that
statement but when removing it from the box I noticed the overall good
condition for an eighteen year old bike and then noticed something in
the box and thought, "What the...a kickstand!" It's probably
the
only Klein known to have a kickstand. It might well have been
owned by the previously mentioned "older gentleman."
This bike has an XT group with six-speed thumbies. It does
have
Magura hydraulic brakes, which definitely have to go, but for now they
function. Kleins, IMHO, should have the cables routed
internally
and the tube the goes along the top tube is the hydraulic line for the
brakes. So new brakes and levers are on tap for this
one.
The stem might be replaced with a Klein one piece stem/bar, we'll
see. Also nice to rack mounts as it was ridden about 130
miles
along Lake Superior after hiking the Superior Hiking Trail.
Currently, the photos aren't so good, but new ones will be coming in
the future.
