This is a good picture of what the forests often
looked like in Fiordlands. There is moss, ferns, and greenery
everywhere. Earlier I had mentioned places that I referred to as
'gardens'. These areas are really hard to describe, this picture only
captures a part of what is there, but it does a reasonably good job.
The specific reason why I took this picture was not only that this was
one of those garden areas, but this was the trail itself. The area is
so overgrown with everything that sometimes it was hard to tell the
trail from the forest. This is why the Dusky is such a good time.
