During our hitch between Christchurch and Oamaru we ran across this sign. This isn't a joke. Penguins really did cross there. Some places have "Moose Crossing" and other places have "Frog Crossing" signs. New Zealand has "Penguins Crossing" signs. This is a picture that had to be taken.

This picture is in Christchurch the morning that Rob left. We had a bit of time before a city bus that would take us to a hitching location left, so I took care of an errand. Valerie asked what took me so long, but I didn't tell her. I said, "You'll find out someday." And she did when I sent her this picture. We had been looking for a penguin costume for Rob the previous day, but we didn't find it. This time, it was the "Mother of All Costumes."
