The Kintail Hut is at the head of a very tall,
narrow, and steep valley. As night approached, the valley turned dark,
but the bare rock at the very top had a slight glow. I set my camera
for a long-exposure night picture, figuring might as well give it a
try. The exposure was long enough that you can see the motion of the
stars. This is a good picture in that the sky and rocks have a bit of
that glow described but this picture also give an impression of just
how steep this valley was. You pretty much look straight up. For an
idea how tall and steep the entrance of this valley is, take a look at
this
picture.
