The descent to Loch Maree from the Pleasant Range has more vertical to it than horizontal.  This picture shows what a large part of that descent looks like.  Hundreds of meters downward are just like you see here.  You really need to focus when walking here as one slip and you can get hurt pretty badly.  So caution is the watchword of the day.  It's a marvelous walk be it up or down.

I mentioned about the need to focus, but I couldn't get a good focus here as the rain was falling, but it gives a good idea of how steep and irregular the track is.
