The larger panoramas are jagged on
the edges.
Sorry, best I could do with this photo. This was on
the
second time over the pass on the way back towards Thomson Hut.
I
spent a lot of time at the saddle and climbed up on the ridge to the
south of the pass. The photo clearly shows exactly how steep
the
descents to the valley floors are.
George Sound is to the
right and large slip is visible in the distance. Deadwood
Lagoon
is to the right. I'm not sure if the tarns flow to Deadwood
Lagoon or not. They weren't flowing the times that I was here
but
in a serious storm they might. They they do flow to
the left
towards Lake Katherine and the sound. One time they were
flowing
down formed a waterfall down steep, exposed rock that made the descent
to the Sound quite tricky.
