The track follows a path that is littered with dead wood, the lagoon's namesake.  Past the dead wood, the gentle path begins its steep climb to Henry Saddle.  The saddle is the lowest point of the high mountains in the background.  Note the light-colored area in the mountains, this is a landslide that has yet to recover.
